Maria G. (Pagliuca) Nicolai

NASHUA, NH – Maria G. (Pagliuca) Nicolai, 94, formerly of Lexington, MA and Venice, FL, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 24th at Courville at Nashua, NH. She was the beloved wife of the late Bruno A. Nicolai.

Maria was born in Boston, on April 23, 1925, daughter of the late Emma (Ciampa) and Angelo Pagliuca.

Maria was a devoted wife and mother and worked part time as a secretary and bookkeeper. She was also a talented painter and enjoyed the latest fashions, traveling and bowling. She spent many happy summers in Scituate, MA and at Lake Winnipesaukee. She’ll be remembered most for her love and the great care she took of her family.

Maria will be deeply missed by her daughters, Norma McGowan and her husband, Walter Bacigalupo of Pelham, NH; and Susan Nicolai of Hudson, NH; two grandchildren, Stephen McGowan and his wife, Dawnmarie of Canterbury, NH, and Brian McGowan and his wife Tracey of Pelham, NH; great-grandchild, Abbey McGowan; sister, Anne Caggiano and her husband Anthony of Newton; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Courville at Nashua and the Home Health & Hospice Care of Merrimack, NH who showed her great compassion and love.
