Bertha R. Stevens

Henniker, NH – Bertha (Burr) Ruth Crowell Stevens, 93, she was a longtime resident of Hudson, NH, and Henniker, NH.

She was residing at the Harris Hill Center in Concord, NH where she passed on Feb 17, 2020 surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of the late Richard A. Stevens, who passed away Nov. 6, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Alton Winthrop & Florence Harriet Crowell.

After graduating from Lowell High School, she went to work in the clothing mills in Lowell, MA as an inspector. Prior to her retirement, she worked at the original Bank of New Hampshire. She was also employed by the Hudson School System.

She was a longtime member of Pilgrim Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Nashua, NH.

She is survived by her only child Eleanor S. Emmett Grande of Henniker, NH. 6 grandchildren: Steven & Holly Emmett of Hudson, NH, Alison & Brian Lyne of Clayton, NC, Beth Spagnoli of Chester, VA, Heather & Doug Mason of Peru, NY, Nathan Emmett & Nikki Sell of Ocoee, Fl, Joseph & Melissa Grande of Henniker, NH, 2 step grandchildren Gina Martin of Plainville, MA, Janna Bastone of New York City, NY, 20 great-grandchildren: Brittany, Kaden, Aubrey, Madison, Taylor, Kendall, Reese, Abigail, Chase, Derek, Brayden, Madden, Khailani, Nickolas, Amanda, Victoria, Zander, Evan, Adam & Chase, 4 great-great-grandchildren: Harper, Ryatt, Radley, & Emmett.

There will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of Life will be held March 2, 2020 at10 am in the Henniker Congregational Church in Henniker, NH.

Internment will follow at 1 pm in the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen NH.

The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service Henniker is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Feeding children on the weekends program, to Congregational Church Henniker, NH, (food 4 friends) or St. John XXIII Food Pantry Memo: (Hudson feed our Kids).
