Jacqueline R. Sullivan

Jan 29, 2020

Jacqueline R. Sullivan, 93, a longtime Nashua resident, died at a local hospital of natural causes on January 24th, 2020.

Jackie was born in Nashua on March 24, 1926, the youngest of 4 children of the late Arthur and Laura (Aubut) Tremblay. She was a graduate of Nashua High and the Mount Auburn School of Nursing in Cambridge, MA. She started her career as an RN at Boston City Hospital and later worked as the administrator of a local nursing home as well as for Nashua Orthopedics while raising her family. Although Jackie trained as a nurse, she also enjoyed several years as a licensed real estate agent. However, in her heart she was always an artist. Her artistry manifested itself in her talents as a master seamstress creating children’s clothes, slipcovers, re-upholstering furniture and creating unique window treatments. In midlife she became a master framer and in recent years she enjoyed painting with watercolors.

Jackie was a force of nature who held strong convictions on many subjects and readily spoke her mind. Her counsel and opinions were sought by family members, as well as, her multigenerational group of friends. An avid bridge player she continued to play at a high level throughout her life.

Traveling was her passion and she and her husband John traveled extensively, exploring the US and Canada in their camper. She also cruised and traveled throughout Europe with friends and family well into her 90’s.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was predeceased by her husband John J Sullivan and her three siblings and their spouses Gerald R. and Eleanor Tremblay, Laval and Constance Tremblay and Michael and Faye Perotta.

She has four surviving children, Christine Sullivan of Amherst, NH, Mark Sullivan of New Castle, DE, Gregory Sullivan of Exeter NH, and Beth Mayo and her husband Peter Mayo of Merrimack NH a well as her grandchildren Maria Sullivan of Jamaica Plain MA, Dennis Sullivan of Denver, CO, Victoria Sullivan and her husband Ian of Queens, NY, Caroline Sullivan of Baltimore, MD, Laura McGuinness and her husband Tim of Merrimack, NH, Kimberly Mayo of Denver, CO, and Stephanie Mayo of Merrimack NH as well as great grandchildren Sean and Peter of Merrimack and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., 425 Daniel Webster Highway Merrimack, New Hampshire on January 31st from 4 – 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack, NH on Saturday February 1st at 9 AM.
