Lyle Wayne Gardenour

Jan 6, 2020

Lyle Wayne Gardenour, 78 passed unexpectedly on January 4, 2020, from a long-term illness with his family by his side. He was born May 20, 1941, in Newaygo, Michigan, the son of Robert and Helen (Crawford) Gardenour.

Lyle proudly served his Country as an armored tank commander with the U.S. Army. During his 20 years of service (1958-1978), he served in the Vietnam War, Korea and various places throughout Germany and the continental U.S.

While serving in Germany, he met and married his wife of 57 years, Karola (Schneider) Gardenour. While residing in NH, he worked as a Supervisor for Miraco, an electronics company in Manchester, NH, where he retired and moved to Lake Wales, Florida, before eventually returning to Nashua, NH, to be with his family.

He was a loving husband, father and outdoorsman who had a passion for hunting, fishing and golfing. A kind, humble and respectful man whom will forever be in our hearts. While we thought we had more time with Lyle, our existence will never be the same. We are proud, grateful and comforted knowing his life’s influence has positively affected our lives and the lives of others around him. For those fortunate enough to have known Lyle, you know he had a truly infectious smile and an immeasurable level of sincerity. We are grateful to all those that touched Lyle’s life. While the list is long, we especially wanted to thank Jerri Raschella, who comforted him over these past few years and lastly the emergency responders, and dedicated staff at Southern New Hampshire Medical for helping make these life-changing experiences more endurable.

In addition to his parents, a son John Robert Gardenour and a brother Carl Gardenour predeceased him. Surviving are his wife Karola Gardenour of Nashua, NH, son Thomas and wife Patricia (Brennan) Gardenour, of Nashua, NH, brothers Robert and wife Patrice Gardenour, Michigan, Larry and wife Diane Gardenour, of Merrimack, NH, and sisters Sharon and Charles Gleason, Michigan, Marlene and Paul Woodrum, Michigan, sister in-law Dawn Gardenour, Michigan.
