Kathryn M. Masterson

Dec 31, 2019

Kathryn M. Masterson, 69 of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully & was surrounded by her loved ones.

Kathy was the daughter of Chris & Irene Masterson who raised her & her 7 siblings in Hudson, NH. She proudly spent most of her life in the Nashua area. As a young girl, Kathy took being a big sister very seriously. She would take it upon herself to make sure that those around her felt love, comfort & affection. This would be her life’s theme. At age 21 Kathy married & began to grow her family which included a total of 3 children. Kathy would often say “my legacy will be that the children I raised love each other, are close to one another & show unconditional love to all others”. After raising her family, Kathy began to work with the elderly where she felt that she had found her calling. In 1988, she began employment at Fairview Nursing Home’s Laurel Place & remained there for over 31 years receiving several employee recognition awards throughout. In work & in life, she provided those around her with immense respect & compassion. Kathy believed that everyone should “keep their dignity” & made certain anyone that she cared for, had just that.

Kathy absolutely loved spending time with family & friends. A drive up the coast for a fresh lobster roll or fisherman’s platter & breathing in the ocean air made her feel serene. She loved to go to the mountains & lakes region to see the foliage, find a diner that served tripe & would tend to those who’d passed gravesites. Even after their passing, Kathy made sure her family wasn’t forgotten. She would never turn down the opportunity to take drives with her loved ones creating fun, loving memories.

Kathy loved having company. She would spend hours sipping coffee, talking with family or friends. She created a comfortable & warm home where everyone knew that they were welcome. Kathy always had food to share & the coffee was on. Her home was always “company ready” as she’d say a “clean home is a happy home”.

Those who knew her always said that being around her felt light & easy. Kathy shared her love of baking with her grandchildren & taught them that the special & final ingredient was always adding “the love”. She loved to tend to her gardens, go antiquing & getting lost in her shows. She could sit alone or with others in the sun using her binoculars watching wildlife for hours. Sharing these special moments with her will be greatly missed.

Kathy’s “Legacy” was her children & their spouses; Scott & Julie Clough, Christina & Jeff Tucker, Katie & Matt Smith. Her joy could be seen when spending time with her 7 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren; Cote, Ember, Kylee, Ayden, Lyla, Madison, Bryson, Stevie & Sawyer.

Kathy remained friendly with Al Clough, the father of her children & adored his children Ryan & Drew. All family members spent holidays & birthdays together

Kathy was honored to be the Godmother to her nephew Robbie Tardif & her Great Niece Leighann Wittemen

She treasured all of her siblings and adored her in laws; Buddy & Nancy Masterson, Cheryl & Mike Rivard, Jim & Marsha Masterson, Fran & Rick Risucci, Pat & Mario Tardif, Chris Masterson & her late brother John Masterson.

Kathy cherished each one of her nieces & nephews. Near or far, she always held them close to her heart.

She would always hold fond memories of her Aunts, Uncles & Cousins as they were all special to her.
