Beverly Ann Schmitt

Beverly Ann Schmitt, 82, a longtime resident of Nashua, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019. “Bev”, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in Cambridge Massachusetts and graduated from Woburn High School.

She was the devoted wife of 58 years to the late Robert J. Schmitt, Sr. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in raising her family. Bev had many friends and touched many lives with her vivacious personality and zest for life and learning.

Beverly was an active fiber-artist, and frequently knitted afghans for the disabled veterans as well as gifts for family and friends. She also won several blue ribbons for her weaving.

She was very involved with the Nashua Senior Center and with the New Hampshire visually impaired groups such as Future in Sight and Talking Books Program of the NH State Library. One of Beverly’s favorite places in Nashua was the Public Library. She was an avid listener of books on tape and CD. Beverly loved food and was a local cookbook author. She was a connoisseur of many local restaurants, her favorite being the San Francisco Kitchen.

Beverly was predeceased by her son, Robert J. Schmitt, Jr. She is survived by her son, Brad Schmitt, his wife Monique and their daughters, Sara and Haley; son, Brian Schmitt, his wife Tricia and their daughters, Adeleine and Marlaina; daughter, Beth Ann Schmitt and her husband Michael Brown; daughter-in-law, Celeste Schmitt and her son, Timothy; and her cousin, Richard Burg.

Services: A Visiting Hour will be held at the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St. Nashua, New Hampshire on Thursday, October 17 at 10:00A.M. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00A.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bev’s memory to Future In Sight, 52 Walker St. Concord, NH 03301 or to the Home for Little Wanderers, 10 Guest St., Boston, MA 02135.
