Eleanor M. (Cowgill) Landry

Eleanor ‘Ellie’ M. (Cowgill) Landry, 83, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, May 28, 2019, peacefully at home.

Eleanor was born on May 19, 1936, in Lowell, MA; daughter of the late Wilfred and Mabel (Ford) Cowgill. She graduated from Alvrine High School in 1955 and was employed at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Burlington, MA. She married Donald A. Landry on July 4, 1958, and together they served in Christian ministry for many years. Her life was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. Eleanor was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. Her family was a central part of her life; she found great joy when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and spending time in the White Mountains.

She was predeceased by her sister, Rose Daniels in 2000, and daughter Linda Flynn in 2018.

Eleanor is survived by her husband Donald of Hudson, 5 children and their spouses, Deborah Wojtaszek and husband Ronald of Hudson, Donna Durand and husband Robert of Hudson, Douglas Landry and wife Laura of Barnstead NH, Laurie Burkett and husband Michael of Hudson, Lisa Frenette and husband Albert of Hudson, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sisters Betty Malone of Gambrills MD, Ruth Jelly and husband David of Hudson NH.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday morning, June 8, at 10:30 AM at Amherst Christian Church, 134 Hollis Road, Amherst, NH, a light reception will follow. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amherst Christian Church, 134 Hollis Road, Amherst, NH.
