Daniel Y. Louie

Daniel Y. Louie, 70, of Milford and formerly of Nashua, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 15, 2019 at the Crestwood Center in Milford, after a period of declining health.

Born in Rockville Center, New York on December 14, 1948, he was a son of the late Dung Yung and Ruby Jane (Szeto) Louie. Educated in New York, Dan was a graduate of Baldwin Senior High School Class of 1967 and furthered his education at SUNY in Stony Brook, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971.

An Air Force veteran, Mr. Louie served during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant from November 1, 1971 until his honorable discharge on October 31, 1975. Dan was named the Financier of the Month in August 1972 and recognized for Outstanding Accounting and Finance by the Office of NCO in June 1974.

Dan moved to Nashua in 1978 and worked as a Software Assurance Engineer for many years, beginning with Sanders Associates in Nashua and later at Honeywell in Billerica, MA.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed Science Fiction items and collecting old comic books.

Members of his family include his sister, Lorraine Louie of Merrimack; his cousins, Ai-Ling Louie of Maryland, Mei-Ling Louie of New York, Jonathan Louie and Su-Ling Campbell both of California, Jean Chee and Beverly Hayes of New Jersey, Joyce Chee and Christine Barnas both of New York; and friends, Ken Brociner of Somerville, MA, Bruce Renison of Alton, IL and Nancy Long of Hudson, NH. Dan was predeceased by his uncle, Victor Louie of New York, who passed away in March of this year.

There are no calling hours. His funeral service will be held in the Main Street United Methodist Church, 154 Main Street, Nashua, Tuesday evening, May 28th at 6 o’clock. The Rev. Richard Cullen, Pastor, will officiate. Interment and Air Force Honors will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen on Wednesday, May 29th at 9:30 a.m. Friends are invited to attend.
