John Edward Syrene

John Edward Syrene, 89, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on June 15, 2018.

John was born on October 15, 1928 in Gardner, MA son of the late Wilfred Sr. And Mary (Raudonis) Syrene.

John was a Korean War Veteran in the U.S. Army 2nd Division Regimental Combat Team, the Blue Arrows.

John lived in Hudson, NH where he was a professional painter for many years in the early 70’s. He then moved to FL to be with his only son David Syrene, whom John was his hero and best friend. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.

John enjoyed cruising the Caribbean with his son, daughter-in-law and friends. John lived for riding scooters until the age of 85 years old when he choose to give up driving. He also worked for many years at the famous Webb’s City in St. Petersburg as a cart manager.

Besides his son David, he leaves behind his daughter-in-law Salome; two sisters, Diane Cook and Marianne Bouffard; brother Leon Cook; mother of his son, Annette Martel of FL; brother-in-law, Moe Paquette, sister-in-law Nancy Syrene; close friend, Monica from WA and many nephews and nieces.

May God carry him in the palm of his hand gently to heaven.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 20th from 10-11:30am in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry St., Hudson. A Service of Remembrance will be held immediately following the visitation period in the Funeral Home beginning at 11:30am.
