Donald Arthur Hentschel

Haines City, FL – Donald Arthur Hentschel, 87, a long time resident of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on September 15, 2017 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland, FL. At the time of his death, he lived in Haines City, FL. Don was born in Saugus, MA to Frank and Gladys (Erb) Hentschel. He had one sister, Marjorie. Following graduation from Saugus High School, Don entered the Navy.

Don was employed at General Foods in Woburn, MA for 17 years and retired from GenRad in Bolton, MA in 1994. He worked part time at the Nashua School District

until 2002.

Don is survived by his loving partner of 26 years, Sandra Fisher of Haines City, FL formerly of Nashua, NH. Don and former wife, Barbara, lived in Wilmington, MA and raised six children, Christopher Hentschel, Steven Hentschel, Patrick Hentschel all of Maine, Karen Cavallaro and partner Chana Robbins of Pflugerville, TX, Marie Wallace of Groton, MA and Deborah Hentschel. Don had 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also leaves behind a special friend, Janet Stevenson of Chelmsford, MA.

Don loved the Red Sox, the Patriots and enjoyed listening to jazz in his “man cave”. He played the organ and loved building and fixing things. He is dearly missed by his fur family, Chico and Angel.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica, MA Presiding will be Father Ronald St. Pierre. Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
