Claudette Jeanne D’Arc (Bernier) Amyot

Claudette Jeanne D’Arc (Bernier) Amyot, passed away at age 81 on April 23, 2018 in Cumming, Georgia. She was born on February 26, 1937 in Nashua, New Hampshire, to the late Leo and Noella (Gagnon) Bernier, and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire. Claudette was married in 1959 in Paris, France to the late Gilbert Louis Amyot (2008). She returned to DC in the early 60’s where she had her 3 children; she and her family lived in Santa Monica, Calif, Kensington and Silver Spring, MD; then in 2016 relocated to Georgia where she remained until her death.

Claudette worked for the National Institute of Health, at National Cancer Institute as an Administrative Assistant for many years and enjoyed her job as well as her co-workers; she retired in 2006.

Claudette was preceded in death by her son, Gilbert Louis Amyot, Jr. (1986); and sister, Lucille Bernier Kopf (2012). Claudette is survived by her daughters, Michele Whaley, her husband, William, and their children, Chad, Chantal, and Cameron of Cumming, GA; Nicole Mastromarino, her husband, Lawrence, and their children, Daniel,Angelina, and Paul of Gaithersburg, MD; brother, Roland Bernier of Calabash, NC.; as well as nephews, nieces and cousins.

Claudette was involved at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School for Girls, where her daughters attended school as well as a member of The Christ Child Society of Washington DC.

Friends and family members may attend the grave site funeral service for Claudette, on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 10:00 am at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road Manchester, NH 03102. A reception will follow the service. She will be interred at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, NH on June 9, 2018.
