Cheryl Hardman

May 15, 2018

Cheryl Theresa Hardman of New Boston, NH, passed away suddenly on May 12, 2018 at her home. Cheryl was born on December 27, 1955 in Hammond, Indiana. She was the eldest daughter of Joseph Payne and Theresa O’Milean Payne.

Cheryl’s life revolved around her family, especially her husband and sons, as well her five siblings and their families for whom she planned and enjoyed numerous family vacations. Cheryl had a great love of bringing family and friends together for holidays and family milestones. Her generous buffets were always a treat. She especially loved Christmas and decorated to the hilt, both inside and out.

Cheryl’s other passions included animals-a multitude of family cats and dogs, and the many species of birds that she attracted to their home with her feeders filled with suet and seeds.

For more than 30 years, Cheryl was actively involved in her family’s property management business. Cheryl was a dedicated former board member of Marguerite’s Place, where she donated time, talent and treasure generously. She also was a proud member of the Milford Lioness Club.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 31 years, Herbert, and her sons Christopher of Manchester, NH, and Nicholas of Las Vegas, NV, and her grandson, Connor. She is also survived by her siblings Connie Hewitt of Ohio, Cathy Matton of Florida, Michael Payne of Texas, Mark Payne of Indiana and Matthew Payne of Alabama.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held immediately following calling hours at noon in the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable.
