Richard A. Beaudette

BROOKLINE, NH – Richard A. Beaudette, 87, resident of Brookline, NH died on May 10, 2018 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, N.H.

He was born in Lewiston, ME on September 15, 1930, the son of Azarias and Faviola (Filteau) Beaudette. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston.

Mr. Beaudette made his home in Brookline for the past 12 years and formerly resided in East Bridgewater, MA and Tewksbury, MA for many years.

He was employed for 25 years as an Electronic Engineer at GTE Sylvania in Needham, MA, where he developed several patents including a fiber optic cable connector. For more than 20 years, he owned and operated Taylor Rental in Brockton, MA until his retirement in 2002.

He enjoyed photography all of his life and was a member of the Photographer Forum in Nashua and N.E. Camera Club Council. In addition, he also enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with electronics.

He was a communicant of St. John Neumann Church, Merrimack, NH. While living in Massachusetts, he was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus in Tewksbury, MA.

Mr. Beaudette was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Constance J. (Marcotte) Beaudette, who passed away in 2009.

Family members include four sons, Marc A. Beaudette of North Easton, MA, Joel A. Beaudette of Merrimack, NH, Eric P. Beaudette of Lexington, MA and Christopher R. Beaudette of Seattle, WA; three daughters, Michelle A. Hanley of Barnstead Parade, NH, Lise T. Giordano of Hampstead, NH and Danielle E. Beaudette of Brookline, NH; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, a brother, Gerard Beaudette, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Robert Beaudette, Ray Beaudette, and his sisters, Rita (Beaudette) Bonnevie, Sr. Lorraine Beaudette, and Denise Beaudette.

Calling hours are Monday, May 14, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Rd., Merrimack, NH, 03054. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst, NH. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA, 02452.
