Dorothy D. Perlow

May 11, 2018

Dorothy Dyer Perlow, 70, of Hollis, N.H. passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. Born July 1, 1947, in Northampton, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Murphy) Dyer and was also predeceased by her dear brother, John Dyer. She was the wife of Barry Perlow, of Hollis, with whom she married on September 6, 1981 in New Boston, NH and shared almost 37 years of marriage with.

Dorothy worked in Boston as a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for many years prior to becoming a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Mercy Hospital in Portland Maine. She proudly gave anesthesia from 1980 until 2008. She was an outstanding caregiver.

Dorothy enjoyed gardening, and loved music. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, movies and was a phenomenal seamstress, making all of her husband Barry’s wardrobe when they first met, even making all the curtains for their home. She adored nature, especially birds, primarily hummingbirds, bluebirds and cardinals. She also enjoyed animals, especially mothers with baby animals. Elephants were her favorite, as they are exquisite parents. But most of all, she loved her family. She adored her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Besides her loving husband, survivors include one son, Jacob Perlow and his wife Christina of Manchester, one daughter, Molly Grillakis and her husband Paul of Nashua, four grandchildren, Mason and Mya Perlow and Niko and Marina Grillakis and one brother, Raymond Dyer, of San Francisco, CA. She will be greatly missed by many, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
