William J. Phillips Jr.

William J. Phillips Jr., 80, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away April 10, 2018, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 17, 1937, in Santa Maria, California, the son of the late William and Carolyn Phillips. On April 16, 1960, he married Carole Borges.

He graduated Santa Maria High School in 1955. He was an avid baseball player and was inducted into the Santa Maria Hall of Fame. He served in the National Guard, owned several businesses and was employed by Teradyne Connection Systems as a Waste Water Treatment Manager. After he retired, he worked part-time delivering airline tickets, ink cartridges and photographs.

He was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Wilkerson of Oregon. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carole Phillips, their daughters Stephanie Ethier of Peterborough N.H., Kimberly Ethier and her husband Emile of Nashua N.H., Nancy Fall of Nashua N.H., Victoria Rodd of Lewisville Texas. Grandchildren TJ and his wife Alysia, Crystal, Alyssa and her husband Mike, Jessica and her fiancé Jake, Joshua and his fiancé Puja, Katie, Bradley, Austin, Brandon, Tori and Brayden. Great-grandchildren Tyler, Kaylee, Aubree, Jenny and Hunter. He is also survived by his brother Robert Phillips of Texas, his sister Tina Haynes of Oregon, and numerous relatives in both California and Hawaii.

It was his wish that there be no service or calling hours. In celebration of his life, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064. His family would like to thank his caregivers (particularly Emilee) in the ICU at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for their compassion and dedication to caring for our Papa.
