Jane E. (deMontigny) Wentzell

Jane E. (deMontigny) Wentzell, 84, of Merrimack, NH died peacefully at her home on February 13, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Wentzell was born in Nashua, NH on October 17, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert and Loretta (Jeannotte) deMontigny.

She was the wife of William A. Wentzell, Jr. of Merrimack. They shared 60 years of marriage together.

Mrs. Wentzell was a graduate of Nashua High School. Following her graduation from high school, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. Mrs. Wentzell earned her Master’s degree in Education from Rivier College in Nashua.

She had worked as a teacher and reading specialist for the Nashua School System for her entire career.

She was an avid reader and book club member. Over the years, she has enjoyed vacationing to Captiva Island, FL, the Outer Banks, Duck, NC, Moody Beach, ME, Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies, Nova Scotia and Bermuda.

Mrs. Wentzell loved to spend time with her family. Over the last 19 years, she has enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and friends in the Heron Cove community in Merrimack. Her neighbors and friends were so thoughtful and kind during the last few months, especially her good friend “Maddy” who continued to encourage her to keep up the good fight.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Robert Wentzell.

Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wentzell of Merrimack, NH; her son, Kurt Wentzell of Middletown, CT; her grandsons, Ryan and Josh Wentzell of Middletown, CT.; her sister, Elaine Donovan of Andover, MA; and her nieces, Jane Huzar, Sharon Lambert, Christine Donovan and Paula Malaguti.

SERVICES: Visiting Hours will be held at the DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock St., Nashua on Thursday evening, February 15, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Christopher Parish, 62, Manchester St., Nashua on Friday morning, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to atten. Interment prayers and burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua.
