Rita (Varieur) Chapdelaine

Merrimack, NH – Rita (Varieur) Chapdelaine 94, formerly of 218 Pond St., Woonsocket, died Tuesday in the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was the wife of the late Arthur Chapdelaine. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Oliver and Roseanna (Lamoureux) Varieur. Mrs. Chapdelaine was a homemaker and a member of the Woonsocket Sr. Center, and the St. Joseph’s Sr. Citizens Club.

Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother was a very kind, loving and caring woman who was loved very much by all her family, and will be greatly missed. We are all very grateful for all the years we had her with us.

She is survived by her daughters; Vivianne Cormier and her husband Richard of Woonsocket, and Susan (Dunn) Mahoney and her husband William of Merrimack, three grandchildren; Deborah Vasquez of Woonsocket, Rodney Dunn of Merrimack, and Michelle Baril of Goffstown, NH. She also has four great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Michael Cormier, and six siblings; Hortense Boucher, Clara Bellevue, Aldea Brillon, Yvonne Bourassa, Sylvio Varieur, and Ovila Varieur.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. John’s Church in Slatersville. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday 3-5PM.
