Massachusetts man pleads guilty in Boston-area robberies

BOSTON (AP) — A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty in connection to more than a dozen robberies in the Greater Boston area, according to prosecutors.

Luis Cintron, 41, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Boston to 14 counts of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery on Tuesday. In addition, Cintron pleaded guilty to charges for the possession of cocaine and the intent to distribute cocaine, according to a statement from the U.S. attorney’s office.

According to the statement, Cintron was involved in 15 armed convenience store robberies involving two suspects. There was no information available on the second robber.

The string of robberies stretched from Dec. 28, 2017, to Feb. 15, 2018, at stores in East Boston, Chelsea, Lynn, Winthrop, Peabody, and Everett, the statement said.

Cintron is scheduled to be sentenced March 21.
