NASHUA — The 22-year-old Nashua man arrested two days after he allegedly brandished a firearm during an argument with a plow truck driver following a collision in a store parking lot is awaiting a court date in May.

The hearing, scheduled for May 23 in Hillsborough County Superior Court South, will be a dispositional conference in the case of Wesley A. Quiroz, of 31B Caldwell Road, who faces one felony count of criminal threatening with a firearm for allegedly grabbing “what the plow driver believed to be a handgun,” according to police.

Quiroz and the plow driver, who wasn’t identified, engaged in an argument after the car Quiroz was driving struck the rear end of the plow-equipped pickup truck as the driver was preparing to plow the parking lot of the 7-Eleven store on Spit Brook Road.

Upon seeing what he believed to be a firearm, the plow driver ran into the store, at which time employees locked the door.

Upon arrival, police officers “spoke with everyone on scene,” according to Lt. Joshua Albert. He said Criminal Division detectives were called in, and also began questioning everyone at the scene — some of whom were less cooperative than others, he added.

Albert said a firearm was recovered, and a short time later detectives issued a warrant for Quiroz’s arrest. Members of the department’s Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit located him and took him into custody Thursday.

Quiroz was held overnight on preventive detention, then elected to waive arraignment at a Friday hearing — an indication that he was released either on bail or personal recognizance.

Police ask anyone who may have further information about the case to contact the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
