Nashua PD files felony charges against Derry man in connection with August jewelry thefts
NASHUA — An investigation into stolen jewelry from a Nashua residence last August has led to the arrest of 44-year-old Douglas Dipesa on a warrant that police issued for his arrest.
Dipesa, last known address of 114 Scobie Pond Road, Derry, is accused of pawning several pieces of stolen jewelry at two Nashua pawn shops, according to police.
The owners of the jewelry, which was stolen from their Nashua home, were able to identify several pieces of the pawned jewelry, and most of it was able to be recovered, police said.
In the meantime, detectives working the case issued a warrant for Dipesa’s arrest, on which he was taken into custody by members of the department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit on Monday.
Dipesa is charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, one a Class A felony and the other a Class A misdemeanor, along with one count of theft by deception, also a Class A misdemeanor.
Dipesa was booked on the charges and later released on bail pending arraignment, which has yet to be scheduled.
Police ask anyone who may have more information on the case to call the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
