Police arrest allegedly intoxicated driver pulling out of car wash around 1:30 a.m.

HOOKSETT — Asked by Concord police to check the area of the Sea Crest car wash on the Londonderry Turnpike early Saturday morning for a suspect vehicle allegedly involved in a hit and run crash in their city, Hooksett Officer Brian Roche arrived in time to see a vehicle with “significant damage” exiting the car wash, police said.

Roche pulled the vehicle over, police said, and when he went to speak with the driver, he “observed signs of (alleged) impairment.”

The driver, identified as Erin Gullage, 39, of Londonderry,

allegedly “admitted to drinking alcohol prior to driving,” police said, adding that she agreed to take field sobriety tests.

Roche, the officer, took Gullage into custody following the field tests, charging her with driving under the influence, police said.

Once at police headquarters, Gullage agreed to take a breath test, which, police said, showed she had a blood alcohol content of .17, just over twice the legal limit of .08.

That resulted in the DUI charge being upgraded to aggravated DUI, police said.

Gullage was booked on the charge and later released on personal recognizance bail pending a Hooksett district court appearance, which is scheduled for Jan. 20, police said.
