Levesque honored with lifetime achievement award at Rotary Gala

By Matthew Burdette - Publisher & Editor | Oct 17, 2021

NASHUA – Dr. Adrian Levesque Jr. was honored Friday night by the Rotary Club of Nashua at its 100th Anniversary Gala with a lifetime achievement award.

Presenting the award to Levesque was Rotary centennial-year president William H. Barry III, who noted that Levesque is just the third person in the club’s history to receive the honor.

The honor – and the gala – had been postponed because of the pandemic, and the award was originally to be presented by Rotary International President-elect Jennifer Jones. Jones, though, participated virtually, including in a question-and-answer session.

Festivities were hosted at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Nashua, and started with a cocktail reception, and included the singing of both the Canadian and U.S. national anthems. Jones is a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland in Ontario, Canada. Kevin Halloran and Michael Aquino did the champagne toast, and current club president Elizabeth Covino provided closing remarks.

As for Levesque, Barry noted not only his commitment and contributions to the club, but also praised him for “saving lives” during his work in Guatemala.

After visiting the country on a vacation, Levesque saw a need, and took steps to make life better for the woman and children of that country.
