Collins Brothers Chowder Company opens for season

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Sep 18, 2021

NASHUA – Fans of the chowders and soups that put Collins Brothers Chowder Company on their must-do lists some years ago were in a celebratory mood this morning as they arrived to pick up their first orders of the season.

Sisters-in-law Kim Poisson and Tina Burke were likewise all smiles as they welcomed the first wave of customers shortly after unlocking the door at 10 a.m.

Although today’s warm, humid late summer conditions could be considered more in line with ice cream cones than chowder and soup, the stream of customers continued to grow as the noon hour approached, just as it does when snow and ice cover the ground.

Collins Brothers, located at 59 Temple St., is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Its daily menu, along with company history other information, can be found at collinsbrotherschowder.com.
