Nashua Lions Club presents Police Officer of the Year awards

By Staff | May 8, 2021

After missing last year due to COVID-19, the Nashua Lions Club resumed its meetings with the presentation of the 2020 and 2021 Police Officer of the Year at the Nashua Country Club.

In recognition of the challenges presented by the pandemic, the club voted to honor the entire sworn membership of the department naming them all officers of the year for 2020. Club President Erin Freda presented the certificate to Deptuy Chief James Testaverde.

For 2021, the department selected Det. Adam Rayho for his superior performance and service as a detective in the department’s cyber-crimes unit.

In presenting him, Testaverde pointed out that Rayho was a member of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Task Force and works with Homeland Security. He has been credited with contributing to the arrest of more than 50 predators of children, “With many of them resulting in federal charges being brought,” Testaverde said.

Freda, along with Testaverde, presented Rayho with his plaque. In turn, Rayho thanked his fellow officers in the unit, as well as the department for their support in this area.
