MERRIMACK – A pickup truck that crashed through the front entrance of a state Liquor & Wine Outlet around noontime Thursday rolled to a stop in the middle of the store – sitting in puddles of liquor and wine and surrounded by broken bottles, crushed boxes, damaged display cases.

A state Liquor Commission spokesman said the store, at 6 Dobson Way, sustained “extensive damage” in the incident, but no injuries were reported.

No details were immediately available regarding the circumstances of the crash. The spokesman said there were no customers in the store at the time, and that the employees present as well as the driver escaped injury.

Along with police and fire officials, representatives of the Liquor Commission’s Division of Enforcement and Licensing and Store Operations are involved in the investigation.

The spokesman said the store will be closed for repairs for an undetermined amount of time. He directed customers to the outlet stores on Coliseum Avenue in Nashua and on Leavy Drive in Bedford.
