Nashua library reopening March 1; some restrictions remain in effect

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Feb 25, 2021

NASHUA – Another sign that Greater Nashuans, like most all Americans, are feeling a sense of cautious optimism that the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic

is behind us is the announcement that the Nashua Public Library is about to reopen.

Library officials have set Monday, March 1, as “reopening day” of the 2 Court St. building, albeit with some restrictions still in place and certain sections remaining closed for the time being.

According to the revised schedule and list of available services that take effect Monday, patrons may enter the building to pick up reserved materials and to browse and check out new materials.

Also, a small collection of items for children and teens will be available for browsing and checkout.

Patrons wishing to browse the adult collection stacks to select books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, video games and magazines can do so by calling 589-4600 to schedule an appointment.

Several 30-minute appointment times will be available five days a week.

Mondays through Thursdays, morning appointments will begin at 10:15, 11, and 11:45, while afternoon appointments will start at 4:30, 5:15 and 6.

Saturday appointments will begin at 10:15, 11 and 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

There are no appointments on Fridays.

Patrons can also ask librarians to retrieve books for them and get advice from librarians.

They can also use the tax computer in the lobby to print tax forms, and to pick up items printed remotely. Photocopying and fax services will also be available.

The library’s computers and printers will be available by appointment.

The curbside pickup service will continue, as will the expanded Books by Mail program.

For more details, and to make appointments, call 589-4600 or go to www.nashualibrary.org/news/library-reopening-march-1.
