JAFFREY – Gov. Chris Sununu and U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster of New Hampshire’s second congressional district will join, virtually, local community leaders and MilliporeSigma executives today (Tuesday) for the unveiling of the firm’s new high capacity water treatment system just completed at the firm’s Jaffrey facility.

Sununu and Kuster will deliver remarks, followed by comments from town officials and MilliporeSigma executives.

Speakers include Jon Frederick, Jaffrey town manager, along with MilliporeSigma head of global operations Michael Galleno, head of Jaffrey site operations David Poggi, and interim CEO Chris Ross.

They will speak about the Burlington, Massachusetts-based company’s $14.4 million investment in the “state-of-the-art, higher capacity industrial water treatment system,” which, according to company officials, is designed “to treat future sit industrial water flows.

“This industrial water reclamation center supports new, town-issued industrial discharge permit limits, and has more than 10 times the treatment capacity of the former plant,” officials said.

The Jaffrey plant, at 480 Turnpike Road, is one of 59 manufacturing sites worldwide owned and operated by Merck KGaA of Darmstadt, Germany.

The life science business of Merck KGaA operates in the United States and Canada as MilliporeSigma.

The firm’s focus is on scientific discovery, biomanufacturing and testing services, according to officials.
