U.S. Rep Annie Kuster

CONCORD – U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster was joined by Senator Maggie Hassan and ‘A Seat At The Table’ candidates to discuss women running for office in New Hampshire and the importance of electing women leaders. Kuster launched the ‘A Seat At The Table’ initiative to highlight a slate of New Hampshire 2020 candidates who will give voice to women across the Granite State and fight to protect and preserve women’s reproductive rights, the health, wellbeing and safety of Granite State families, and our environment.

Kuster was joined by:

United States Senator Maggie Hassan, New Hampshire

Councilor Deb Pignatelli, Executive Council District 5

Cinde Warmington, Candidate for Executive Council District 2

Mindi Messmer, Candidate for Executive Council District 3

President of New Hampshire Senate Donna Soucy, Senate District 18

Senator Jeanne Dietsch, Senate District 9

Senator Shannon Chandley, Senate District 11

Senator Melanie Levesque, Senate District 12

Senator Cindy Rosenwald, Senate District 13

Sue Ford, Candidate for Senate District 1

Sue Prentiss, Candidate for Senate District 5

Jenn Alford-Teaster, Candidate for Senate District 8

Becky Whitley, Candidate for Senate District 15

Rebecca Perkins Kwoka, Candidate for Senate District 21

“In New Hampshire, we have a history of electing strong women leaders,” said Annie Kuster. “From my mother, State Senator Susan McLane, to the incredible Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, we know in the Granite State the importance of having the voice of women at the table. I’m so excited about the women who are stepping up to run for office across New Hampshire. Earlier this year I launched my ‘A Seat at the Table’ program to help lift women across New Hampshire, and the men who love them, who are fighting to protect and preserve women’s autonomy and reproductive rights and to expand economic opportunity for all Granite State families.”

“I want to thank Annie Kuster for her vision and leadership in taking to new levels our efforts in New Hampshire to encourage women to run, mentor them, and support them as they run,” said Senator Maggie Hassan. “To all of the female candidates, thank you for running and thank you for serving. Remember that all of the experience that you have had in your lives as daughters and sisters and mothers and wives, all of that experience-personal, professional, family life-that is an incredibly important experience to the work at hand. Because it is bringing that experience to the table and being able to speak up for the person who no one else has thought about that makes us strong and helps us chart a fully inclusive path forward.”
