WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan released the following statement ahead of the 19th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

“While we will not be able to come together in person this year in the same ways that we so often do, we must take this time to remember those we lost and the brave first responders and ordinary citizens who saved countless lives on that horrific day. I am also profoundly grateful for the service of our men and women in uniform who have stepped up and put their lives on the line to keep our country safe, secure, and free. When I think about that day, something that gives me hope is how our country came together during that time of darkness. Americans, when challenged, come together, find a way forward, and demonstrate an unbreakable resilience. That is what we did nineteen years ago. And that is what we must do again amid this devastating pandemic.”
