MERRIMACK – ON Saturday at 3:40 p.m., multiple calls came in for a single-vehicle accident with serious injuries on the Everett Turnpike.

NH State Police Troop B, and Bedford Fire were dispatched due to the initial location reported for the accident. Once first arriving units were on the scene, the accident was in Merrimack at Mile Marker 16.2. Merrimack Fire Rescue was also requested to respond.

NH State Police reported two people in the vehicle, one who was unresponsive. Bedford Firefighters utilized the Jaws of Life to free a male victim trapped in the car, and began treating a female who was out of the vehicle.

The male victim who was responsive when removed from the vehicle was brought to a waiting ambulance. Merrimack Firefighters worked on the female victim, who appeared to have less severe injuries.

At this time it appears there was only one vehicle which was involved in the crash, The vehicle appears to have been traveling Southbound when it veered to the right into the grass, struck several yards of guardrail, and rolled over the embankment.

NH State Police are investigating the accident, and the right lane was shut down for fire, EMS and investigators. The name, age, and condition of the victims is unknown at this time. The victims were transported to hospitals in Manchester.
