Washington, D.C.- The United States House of Representatives passed a comprehensive, five-year transportation and infrastructure package that U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas (NH-01) helped to develop as a member of the T&I Committee.

H.R. 2, The Moving Forward Act, delivers on Pappas’s pledge to fight for the federal support needed to address New Hampshire’s urgent infrastructure needs. This 5 year bill will deliver more than $1.3 billion for New Hampshire’s transportation infrastructure, a more than a 30% increase in federal funding. This package also authorizes additional funding to expand rural broadband, invest in affordable housing, and modernize our health care infrastructure.

“The passage of a federal infrastructure package remains a critical step in getting America up and running again,” said Congressman Pappas. “The Moving Forward Act is a transformational bill that will invest $1.3 billion over the next 5 years to meet our state’s urgent transportation needs and help expedite critical projects.”

“I am pleased the bill reflects my priorities to create a dedicated program for bike and pedestrian infrastructure, increase funding for programs that can facilitate passenger rail expansion, and support federal funding to mitigate PFAS contamination,” Pappas continued. “It is now time for the Senate to come to the table and advance an infrastructure bill that will help grow our economy, put Americans back to work, and rebuild our infrastructure for the future.”
