HOLLIS – A local woman sustained injuries that police said aren’t considered life-threatening when she was struck by a vehicle while walking along Depot Road Wednesday.

Police said Madison Kuchta, 20, of Hollis, was walking north on Depot Road when she “suddenly veered into the path of the vehicle” in the area of Rideout Road.

In a press released updated Thursday, police didn’t indicate what may have caused Kuchta to walk into the road.

They identified the driver of the vehicle, a Nissan Rogue, as Deborah Ziolkowski, 62, of Hollis, and said she was driving south on Depot Road at the time of the collision.

Police said that at this point in their investigation, they do not suspect driver impairment, speed or distracted driving to be factors in the collision.

Ziolkowski, who was apparently uninjured, remained on the scene to speak with police, and “is cooperating fully with authorities,” police said.

Hollis EMS personnel tended to Kuchta at the scene, then transported her to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, police added.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has further information contact police Officer Adam Kushmerek at 465-7637.
