Kuster Commends Citizens and Rotary for Mask Efforts

By Staff | May 16, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster released the following statement on “Mask Up NH!” and the efforts of Alex Ray, Steve Rand, Bill Berry, and local NH Rotary Clubs to distribute facemasks to Granite Staters free-of-charge. The CDC recommends the use of cloth facemasks in public settings where social distancing may be difficult.

“With the knowledge that people can be infected and spread COVID-19 without showing symptoms, we should all wear a mask when possible to keep ourselves, our loved ones, our communities, and our first responders and doctors on the frontlines safe,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “I’m proud to support these efforts to get masks to those who need them. Thank you to Alex Ray, Steve Rand, Bill Berry, and the Nashua Rotary Club for their extraordinary work to keep our community safe. I’m glad that Granite Staters will be able to pick up their masks free-of-charge while maintaining physical distancing.”

“As the Nashua Rotary Club kicks off its 100th year, we look forward to partnering with the Nashua Rotary West club, the Souhegan Valley Rotary Club, and Alex Ray and the Common Man Restaurants to give away free of charge 14,000 masks to Nashua area residents to fight Covid-19,” said Bill Barry, President-elect of the Nashua Rotary Club. “Our club had its beginnings in the aftermath of the Spanish Flu of 1918-1919. We intend to fight this disease as vigorously as our founding Rotarians built our community in the aftermath of that pandemic. Many thanks to our Congresswoman, Annie Kuster for her assistance in facilitating, and to Alex Ray and the Common Man Restaurants for proving us with the opportunity to play our part in the battle.”

Nashua Rotarians will be distributing masks at Nashua High School South today and tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those who would like to pick up masks should head to the High School, located at 36 Riverside St #1312 in Nashua, and follow the signs on Riverside Street that will direct you to the site. Drivers and passengers should remain in their vehicles and wait to be directed by volunteers to pull up. This masks-for-everyone campaign is called “Mask Up NH!” and additional formation is available at www.maskupnh.com.
