Sculpture Symposium, local events postponed

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Apr 2, 2020

NASHUA – The latest Nashua-based arts-culture event to be called off because of the COVID-19 virus threat is also one of its most significant: The Nashua International Sculpture Symposium.

Originally scheduled to open May 7 and run through May 30, the symposium will be rescheduled for sometime later this year, most likely in late summer, chairwoman Gail Moriarty said.

The virus threat also forced the postponement for several months of the 7th annual Meri Goyette Arts Awards Luncheon. Typically held in April, this year’s event is now scheduled for Nov. 8.

The Nashua Area Artists Association’s Greeley Park Art Show, a summer tradition for more than 60 years, is still on for mid-August, but would be cancelled or postponed if the virus threat lingers that long.

Going forward, The Telegraph will provide updates on the postponement, cancellation or rescheduling of any other arts-related events in Greater Nashua.
