NASHUA (AP) – Dale Holloway, the man accused of shooting a New Hampshire church pastor and bride during a wedding and later attacking his own attorney, has been formally indicted on two counts of attempted murder, among other charges, according to court paperwork.

The January grand jury for Hillsborough County Superior Court-South this week handed up six indictments against Holloway, 37, who remains in Valley Street jail as his cases proceed.

In addition to the attempted murder charges – which accuse him of attempting to cause the death of Bishop Stanley Choate and the bride, Claire McMullen, by allegedly shooting them – indictments were also handed up on two counts of first-degree assault, and one count each of felon in possession of a firearm and second-degree assault.

Holloway is accused of walking into the New England Pentecostal Church in Pelham on Oct. 12 as a wedding was getting underway.

He allegedly brandished a firearm and shot Choate, the 75-year-old bishop who was the most seriously injured. He also allegedly shot McMullen, but she has since recovered from the injuries.

The groom, Mark Castiglione, suffered relatively minor injuries when Holloway allegedly struck him in the head with the handgun, according to authorities.

Holloway is next due in Superior Court in Nashua on March 19 for a dispositional conference, at which time he will also be arraigned on the indictments.

Meanwhile, a second case against Holloway, which was opened just over a week after the church shooting and accuses him of beating up his public defender during a meeting at Valley Street jail, is proceeding separately in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North.

Holloway is charged with one count of first-degree assault, on which he was also indicted this month. He is accused of striking Nashua-based public defender Michael Davidow in the face and head area, causing Davidow to suffer a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a brain bleed – and similar injuries.

According to court officials, Holloway is scheduled for an arraignment and bail hearing at 9 a.m. on Jan. 29, and a dispositional conference has been set for 9 a.m. on March 2. Both proceedings will take place at Hillsborough Superior Court North in Manchester.
