66th Greeley Park Art Show continues today

By Mathew Plamondon - Staff Writer | Aug 18, 2019

NASHUA – The Nashua Artists Association 66th Greeley Park Annual Art Show kicked off on Saturday, with more than 60 artists opening the two-day showcase.

Art fans come from throughout the region to appreciate the day filled with many types of art.

The show was opened by the Gloria McCarthy – the widow of the former Nashua Alderman and art advocate Brian McCarthy – who rang the first ceremonial bell. She did so while surrounded members of the association and city leaders, including Mayor Jim Donchess and his wife Victoria, as well as Alderman Richard Dowd.

Tents filled with paintings – whether they were acrylic, water colors or oils – pottery, glass work, jewelry, illustrations and much more lined the front of Greeley. Art show attendees were able to enjoy all the different styles on display.

Those who found their way through the show were also treated to live entertainment throughout the day, with marionette shows provided by Teresa Moler and live music provided by Jennifer Boss and Todd Sople from the local band Sauce & the Boss – who played acoustic renditions of popular radio hits during their set.

The show continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, during which there will be the Emerging Artist competition, as well as the Nashua Area Artists Association Scholarships which will be awarded by Donchess at 3 p.m.
