MANCHESTER – At about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Manchester police officers conducting foot patrol saw what they believed to be a man urinating on the marble inside Veteran’s Memorial Park. Officers also saw numerous people staring and yelling at the man.

Officers arrested the man, later identified as 21-year-old Yeudefeliz Cepeda De La Cruz. The people nearby clapped and thanked police.

Officers later learned that Cepeda De La Cruz had active bail conditions issued earlier in the day. He had been charged with simple assault after an altercation with another man. Manchester police had released him a few hours prior to finding him in the park.

Cepeda De La Cruz is scheduled to appear in Manchester Circuit Court on Thursday.
