NASHUA – Lil’ Iguana’s Family Fun Day will return to Nashua High School South next month, featuring Laser Tag, escape rooms, live stage shows and much more.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 11, the high school, located at 36 Riverside St. in Nashua, will be packed with families for this annual event. Various costume characters will be onsite to greet folks, while, Lil’ Iguana will also be introducing the new costume for the first time to the public. The New Hampshire based nonprofit foundation teaches the youngest community members safety lessons through various award-winning, live musical programs, which have been presented to more than 3 million people in seven countries. Furthermore, Lil’ Iguana will celebrate its 25th anniversary in August.

“Every 30 minutes, there will be a new show on the stage, whether it’s dancers, baton twirlers, story readers, performers, musicians — we have it all this year,” Executive Director Jim Tomaszewski said.

Last year’s event drew about 2,500 people. Tomaszewski expects similar numbers this year.

“The best thing about it is when you come, your kid is guaranteed a few hours of fun,” Tomaszewski said.

He also said when the children get home later in the day, they will be exhausted from all the activity. Admission is just $1, and acts more so as a way to keep track of how many people have come through the doors during the day. Tomaszewski said people who don’t have $1 handy will still be allowed inside.

Also, once onsite, there will be food options available for those who work up an appetite in between the different vendors and activities. He said Qdoba and Mr. Mac’s Macaroni and Cheese will be doing samplings, and Oakhurst will be giving away free chocolate milks, along with other snacks.

A portion of this year’s event will focus on health, fitness, safety and literacy for children and their families. Additionally, there will be samples of nutritious foods and

beverages.

There is also a coloring contest through which two winners will receive a grand prize of a new bicycle and helmet donated by Target.

All participants in the coloring contest still receive a free book as their prize when they return their entry form to the Family Fun Day. The entry form is available online at, https://www.liliguanausa.org/ffd-may/.

Tomaszewski said he is also trying to get as many business vendors, sponsors or anyone to help with this year’s event, including volunteers. He said anyone interested in those opportunities can call the office at 603-881-9805 or send an email to info@liliguanausa.org.
