By Adam Urquhart - Staff Writer | Mar 30, 2019

NASHUA – National Public Health Week returns on Monday, and the Greater Nashua area will feature several celebratory events.

The Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services and community partners will organize events from April 1-8. This year’s theme is“Healthiest Nation 2030,” and Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess will help begin the week at noon Monday at City Hall.

Community members are welcome to gather at the steps to walk a mile with Donchess. Participants will join him in walking down Main Street to the other side of the bridge by Riverside Barbeque Company and back up to City Hall. The walk will take place, rain or shine.

“I think it’s going to be a really great week,” city health promotion specialist Courtney Ellison said. “We have a bunch of events listed on our website. We have been working hard with community partners to try to get a diverse offering of presentations, trainings and that kind of thing. People can go right on our website and it has times, dates and all that kind of stuff.”

All events can be found online at, https://www.nashuanh.gov/1132/Public-Health-Week-is-Here.

She said every year features the same theme, “Healthiest Nation 2030.” It is about local public health partners collaborating on community partnerships and projects an to increase awareness.
