Pets can FaceTime with owners while at hotel
TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. – Best Friends Pet Hotel has opened a new facility just across the border in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, with an updated look and feel to give pet lovers to bring their furry friends when they need a place to stay.
The establishment will be celebrating its grand opening at 2 Technology Way in Tyngsborough from 2-4 p.m. April 6. The day will feature events and activities for pets and their owners.
Dog lovers are invited to bring their well-behaved four-legged friends to the event to enjoy the festivities, which will include a ribbon-cutting at 12:30 p.m.
The hotel provides a multitude of services, ranging from pet daycare, as well as overnight stay, to training and grooming services.
It caters to many types of pets, from dogs and cats, to smaller animals such as rabbits and hamsters.
“We mostly get a lot of dogs and cats,” hotel manager Becky Powers said. “But, we also take pocket pets too, so we take bunnies, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters – that sort of thing.”
Powers said the new location is a welcome upgrade for both the pets and the staff members. With so many amenities for the animals, she said the upgrade provides so much in terms of important luxuries offered to the animals.
“There’s so many important things about this location,” Powers said. “One of the nice features is the outdoor camp yards, and the water splash park, which will be running when the weather is nice.”
“We also have the luxury boarding now, which is kind of fun and fancy. That has the DVD players and the web cams that you can FaceTime with your dogs which is fun,” she added.
During the grand opening event, animal lovers and their pets will be able to tour the custom-built 9,000 square foot facility and take part in festivities such as pet portraits with digital downloads, treats from the Best Friends Treat truck as well as refreshments for all guests and other planned activities.
Guests will also be able to meet members of the Tygnsborough Police Department’s K-9 unit and meet members of the staff, including the trainer and groomer among other activities.
Also attending the event will be members of nonprofits from around the area, including the Lowell Humane Society.
With a staff of highly trained pet lovers, Powers said with the new facility the center can continue to serves members of the surrounding communities at a high level.
“For nearly 25 years, we’ve been treating Merrimack Valley dogs and cats like family,” she said. “That’s over 175 in dog years.”
“With this brand new Best Friends Pet Hotel in Tyngsborough, we will continue to serve our pet parents and guests to continue to be leader of the pack,” Powers added. “We are proud to provide the absolute best and safest pet care in the area, from boarding, doggy day camp, grooming and even training services.”
