U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a senior member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, announced that she will co-host a webinar on nonprofit relief resources with the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) on Friday, February 5 at 12:30PM. The webinar will feature advice from SBA staff on what SBA programs are available to nonprofits in need of relief during the pandemic. Local experts will also provide updates on the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program, Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program and more.

“From child care centers and food pantries to crisis centers for victims of domestic and sexual violence, nonprofits across New Hampshire are lifelines for our communities. They deserve every resource possible to keep their doors open during this health and economic crisis so we can ensure Granite Staters have the assistance they need to stay safe, healthy and secure,” said Shaheen. “I’m excited to announce this constituent services event with the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits and the U.S. Small Business Association to help nonprofits access urgently needed relief. As nonprofits across the state work on the frontlines to meet the needs of our communities, I’ll make sure they have access to the information they need to serve New Hampshire families, and that they always have a voice in the Senate.”

This webinar builds on Senator Shaheen’s extensive efforts to support nonprofits in need throughout the pandemic. Shaheen was instrumental in ensuring that nonprofits could qualify for critical assistance through the CARES Act, including the PPP and EIDL grant programs. She also worked across the aisle to expand the universal charitable deduction to encourage donations to nonprofits through the Universal Giving Pandemic Response Act. Since March, Shaheen has regularly held conference calls with nonprofits and small businesses in New Hampshire for feedback on how relief programs can be improved and best deliver assistance.
