Pappas supports bipartisan vote to provide Granite Staters with additional COVID-19 relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following statement after voting to pass the Caring for Americans with Supplemental Help (CASH) Act of 2020. This will increase the value of the second round of economic impact payments in the recently enacted COVID-19 relief bill from $600 per eligible member of the household to $2,000 per eligible member of the household.
“Today I voted for bipartisan legislation to increase stimulus checks to $2,000 per person so we can provide more help directly to New Hampshire families who have been hit so hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis,” said Congressman Pappas. “It’s not every day that two-thirds of the House and President Trump see eye-to-eye on an issue, but helping Americans during this time of need shouldn’t be political. I urge our colleagues in the Senate to act quickly and pass this legislation so we can put this money in people’s pockets.”

On December 21st, Congressman Pappas voted to pass bipartisan legislation to provide additional COVID-19 relief to Americans and fund critical government services and programs, including many New Hampshire priorities that he has strongly championed.
Pappas-led provisions in the bill COVID-19 relief and government funding legislation include efforts to expand eligibility for PPP loans for small business and small non-profits, increased flexibility for small businesses, expanding critical infrastructure projects and supporting clean water resources, strengthening international medical partnerships to lessen our dependence on China, developing a clean energy economy, and providing more and better care for veterans and military families.
