By Staff | Jul 30, 2022

On June 27 at the Nashua Country Club, the Rotary Club of Nashua celebrated its 101st changing of the gavel ceremony. The Club welcomed its new president, Erin Gleeson, president of Rambling House LLC in Nashua. Outgoing president of the Rotary Club, Elizabeth Covino, chief community relations officer of the YMCA of Greater Nashua, was thanked for her year of leadership service to the Club.

Also thanked for their board service were outgoing board members: Foundation Chair Ian Bowker, Director Patricia Conard and Director Christine Donlan.

Gleeson introduced the incoming Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Nashua for the 2022/2023 year:

• Brian Law, president-elect

• Steve Boilard, vice president

• Nick Coffey, secretary

• Kelly M. MacDonald, assistant secretary

• Donna Robinson, treasurer

• Adrian Levesque, assistant treasurer

• Paige Hultman, director

• Cheryl Linder, director

• Elizabeth Covino, immediate past president

The Rotary Club of Nashua is the longest-serving professional community service group in Nashua and celebrated 100 years of service, commemorated with a gala on Oct. 15, 2021. The keynoter of that celebration (via Zoom) was Jennifer Jones, who at that time was incoming president of Rotary International. She will serve as this international organization’s first female president.

Some major projects the club has brought to the community include, Rotary Common, which is the home to a beautiful Labyrinth; the Bandshell at Greeley Park; Rotary outdoor swimming pool next to Fairgrounds Elementary School; support of Community Hospice House in Merrimack; and on the international level has supported polio eradication, Pure Water for the World and educational support of midwives in Guatemala, among many projects over the decades.

The Rotary Club of Nashua always is eager to invite others to join us and learn more. Help create lasting change; solving some of the world’s most complex and pressing problems takes real commitment and vision on the local level.

Rotary members believe that they share a responsibility to take action to improve communities. For more information about membership, contact Membership Chairperson Tony Martinez at tonym1346@gmail.com.
