CONCORD – The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation announced today that nominations are open for AmplifiHERs to be honored at their virtual May GALA, “Celebrating the Women & Girls of the Pandemic.” The Foundation is inviting the public to nominate women and girls across the Granite State to be recognized at the event for making a difference during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’ve had an unprecedented year,” said Tanna Clews, CEO of the Foundation, “And while in New Hampshire and across the world, we’ve seen women and girls disproportionately affected by COVID-19, we have also seen that women and girls are the ones leading, innovating and inspiring us through the COVID-19 pandemic response and into recovery. That’s why this year, instead of just selecting one AmplifiHER award recipient, our 2021 GALA will celebrate all of the women and girls who have stepped up in ways big and small to support their families, loved ones and communities through this global health crisis.”

Examples of the types of nominations they’re looking for, from the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation website, include: “The mothers homeschooling while working or volunteering, the young students who spent their time and money sewing masks for their communities, the teachers leading remote learning, the nurses and doctors and essential workers on the frontlines, the public servants navigating the pandemic for their town or city, the women small business owners who had to pivot and find ways to adapt their businesses, the grandmothers and neighbors helping with childcare, and girls and women creating solutions and bringing joy to isolated people throughout the shutdown.”

All nominated women and girls will be celebrated as AmplifiHERs in a visual tribute at the annual GALA, and the Foundation will highlight a few special stories at the event.

Nominations are now open and will be accepted through March 31st. Nominations can be submitted at NHWomensFoundation.Org/GALA.
