Breen named New Found Treasure by Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains

By Staff | Sep 5, 2020

WINDHAM – Nicole Breen, 38, of Windham, has been named a New Found Treasure by Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, the council serving more than 10,000 girls across New Hampshire and Vermont. The award was presented to her earlier this month via Zoom.

Breen is a new volunteer with Girl Scouts, starting as a primary troop leader for Troop 60255 this Girl Scout year. She has consistently been a big advocate for Girl Scouts in Windham. She has 18 Daisies – girls in kindergarten and first grade – in her troop, and is always willing to accommodate more girls making sure she stays within the adult to girl ratio. She has personally recruited co-leaders for the troop. She is always communicative with the council office and staff and ensures that her council data is up to date and accurate.

Stephanie Romero, Inside Sales Specialist for the council, said Breen “has gone above and beyond what is expected for a new leader and is absolutely amazing.”

Volunteer Support Specialist Amanda Powell agrees that Breen is always willing to take more girls into the troop. Her co-leaders have said “the girls seem to really enjoy our meetings and each other. The leadership team works well together, and Nicole has been great to work. She is so on top of it.”

Nicole Breen truly embodies the Girl Scout spirit by creating such a positive, open and welcoming environment for the girls and volunteers in Troop 60255!

The New Found Treasure award recognizes an adult volunteer who is new to Girl Scouting and has provided exemplary volunteer service.
