Nashaway Woman’s Club scholarship recipients announced

The Nashaway Woman’s Club recently awarded scholarships to the following students from Nashua high schools, who will be attending college in the fall.

These students were chosen for their excellent academic standings in their respective high schools. The group awarded a total of $16,000 in scholarships for the second year in a row.

Nashua High School South Students receiving $ 2,000 scholarships were:

• Olivia Robin Buskey, the daughter of Jennifer Buskey. She has been accepted at Nashua Community College, where she plans on studying to be an elementary teacher. We wish her success in her education.

• Victoria Rose Kennedy, the daughter of Greg and Melissa Kennedy. She has been accepted at the University of New Hampshire, where she plans on studying engineering . We wish her success in her education.

• Owen Long, the son of Waiman and Elsa Long. He has been accepted at the University of California, Berkley, in computer sciences. We wish him success in his education.

Nashua High School North Students receiving $2,000 scholarships were:

• Michelin Odei, daughter of Giselda Anrofi. She has been accepted at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte campus. She will be studying computer sciences. We wish her success in her education.

• Anthony Milani, the son of Michael and Joann Milani. He has been accepted to the University of New Hampshire. We wish him the best as he pursues his education and furthers his career.

The following students received $1,000 non-traditional scholarships as returning college students:

• Isaiah Day, the son of Joseph and Rebecca Day. Isaiah is currently enrolled at the Nashua Community College where he will continue his education in Business Management as a Sophomore this fall. We wish him the best of luck for this coming year at college.

• David Brideau, son of Lisa Brideau. David is currently enrolled at SNHU, where he is studying engineering as a Sophomore this fall. We wish him the best of luck for this coming year at college.

• Alexia Thieret, the daughter of Scott and Lynne Thieret. Alexia is currently enrolled at SNHU, where she is studying in the health care administration program as a Junior this fall. We wish her the best in her pursuit of her education and degree.

• Victoria Thieret, the daughter of Scott and Lynne Thieret. Victoria is currently enrolled at Bob Jones University in the pre-med program as a Sophomore this fall. We wish her the best in her pursuit of her college education and degree.

• Kathleen Negron, the daughter of Steven and Terry Negron. Kathleen is currently enrolled at Texas Christian University in marketing in her Senior year this fall. We wish her the best in your studies this year at college.

• Jillian MacGregor, the daughter of Harold and Marie MacGregor. Jillian is currently enrolled at Olin College of Engineering in her Senior year this fall. We wish her the best in her studies this year at college.

Nashaway offers scholarships to students graduating from high school as seniors and those entering college to complete their educational career. The applications are available at the beginning of the year for the following school year. High school students interested who are about to graduate, can see their guidance counselor for an application. We supply the school with applications for general, art and music scholarships at $2,000 each. This is an excellent way to start out a college education and they can continue if qualified until their senior year of college through non-traditional scholarships of $1,000 each.
