BECK’S ARTS EXPRESS HOSTS OPEN HOUSE FOR SUMMER CLASSES, CAMP

RSVP BONE BUILDERS PROGRAM FOR SENIORS

The RSVP Bone Builders Program is a strength-training and balance exercise program to help prevent and reverse osteoporosis, improve balance, and enhance energy and well-being. The program, geared for age 60 and older, relies on weight training to protect against fractures caused by osteoporosis by increasing muscular strength and bone density. Balance exercises aimed at preventing falls and fractures are key components. The program is led by trained volunteer leaders. Free. LIGHTEN UP NASHUA: SUMMER SLIMDOWN

St. Joseph Hospital’s Lighten Up Nashua: Summer Slimdown is a free community online weight-loss program sponsored by the hospital that’s designed to motivate people to focus their energy on achieving a healthy lifestyle. Individuals or teams of four can sign up and log in their weight loss each week for a chance to win prizes. The program also offers access to free healthy recipes and cooking videos, exercise tips and information on local health events. The next session runs June 10-Aug. 30. Prizes include a Nike FuelBand, a $100 spa gift card, gift cards to Hannaford Supermarket and prizes to all who lose at least 10 percent of their body weight. SENIORS COUNT WORKSHOP OFFERS IDEAS FOR SUMMER FUN

Are you looking to have some fun this summer close to home? Tom Dwane, recreation program manager for the city of Nashua, and Carol Eyman, outreach director and community service coordinator for the Nashua Public Library, will share information about upcoming summer events and programs at a free workshop at 1 p.m. June 10 at the Senior Activity Center, 70 Temple St. Joining them will be Rebecca Dixon, executive director of Nashua’s Great American Downtown. WHAT IS MARRIAGE?

Rhodes Scholar Sherif Girgis, a Yale law student, doctoral student of philosophy at Princeton and co-author of “What Is Marriage? Man and Woman: A Defense,” and Dr. David Franks, professor at St. John’s Seminary in Boston and vice president for mission of the Theological Institute for the New Evangelization, will present arguments defending traditional marriage in the public square. 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. June 15 at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road. DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM
