Registration open for ‘The Parenting Journey’ program offered at Family Resource Center in Nashua

NASHUA – Join other parents in this 12-week group to make connections with your past and how it relates to your current relationships and interactions to your current relationships and interactions with your children.

The group is currently being formed with an anticipated start date of early fall. The exact start date will be determined when 10 individuals register.

The program will be facilitated by Lori Fowler of Prevention Makes Cents.

In a supportive environment, over a meal, participants will …

? Participate in a 12-week, self-reflective and nurturing program.

? Reflect back on childhood experiences to gain and understanding how it may be impacting current parenting and life choices.

? Learn to forgive yourself and others and let go of things that may be getting in the way of reaching goals.

? Set personal and family goals that decrease stress and increase positive relationships at home.

? Identify parenting as love, nurturing, protection and teaching.

Candidates need to meet with the program facilitator prior to the start of the program. The program includes all materials, including a certificate of completion based on attendance and a graduation binder at the end of the program. A light meal will be served at the beginning of each session.

The program is funded in part from a grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

The Family Resource Center of Greater Nashua is a collaborative effort of a group of Nashua family-serving organizations led by the Adult Learning Center, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, Child and Family Services, Greater Nashua Healthy Community Collaborative, Prevention Makes Cents, Southern New Hampshire Services and the UNH Cooperative Extension-Hillsborough County.

The Family Resource Center of Greater Nashua provides an ongoing schedule of programs on a variety of topics. Many are offered free. Complimentary child care is available for many programs.
