Hudson man arrested after crashing stolen van
HUDSON – Police say a Hudson man driving a stolen minivan, with a motorcycle in the back, crashed into a building Friday morning following a brief pursuit.
Antonio Velazquez, 19, of 3 A St., is charged with felony counts of reckless conduct, receiving stolen property and reckless operation, as well as misdemeanor charges for disobeying an officer, operating without a valid license and speeding.
Officers with the Hudson Police Department say Velazquez was speeding on Highland Street shortly before 6 a.m. when an officer tried to pull him over. Velazquez went through the Derry Street intersection in a dangerous manner at a high rate of speed before he collided with the building at Baker Street, police say.
He sustained serious injuries and was taken to a Boston hospital.
The minivan, a 2002 Chrysler Voyager, was reported stolen out of Nashua. In the back of the vehicle was a was a 2009 Ducati motorcycle registered to another person in Nashua.
The arraignment for Velazquez is scheduled for next month in a Nashua courtroom.
