McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center to host Busyhaus Artworks Exhibit

By Staff | Sep 22, 2021

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will host the art exhibit “Outer Space” by artist Robert Hauser of Busyhaus Artworks in Peterborough, New Hampshire. This collection of 15 art assemblages connects historical and current scientific understandings of the astronomy and physics with the artist’s three-dimensional interpretations of the universe. As Robert says, “The artist as tour guide can provide another way of observing and interpreting the universe we inhabit.” Visitors will encounter the science behind the artwork and, during Capital Arts Fest, have a chance to create their own space art.

This temporary exhibit will open as part of the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center’s participation in Capital Arts Fest, starting Friday, September 24, and then remain open to our visitors through the fall. “Outer Space” provides an opportunity for guests to see the creativity and imagination fostered by scientific exploration of the universe around us. In keeping with social distancing practices, the Discovery Center is currently open by reservation Friday through Sunday and some holidays.

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center features 21st century interactive exhibits on aviation, astronomy, Earth and space sciences, an all-digital, full-dome planetarium and a wide variety of science, technology, and engineering and mathematics programs. The engaging, robust educational programs are geared towards families, teens, seniors, students, community groups and lifelong learners. For more information, visit www.starhop.com.
